Summary of Program:

Larger Visions safe houses are places where abused women and their children can come for emergency help and shelter. The primary purpose of the safe house is to provide victims of gender-based violence with reprieve. Victims of gender-based violence can come to the Larger Visions safe-house and get trauma care and support in finding and attending medical care. However, crisis care is not the only purpose of the safe house. Larger Visions safe houses provide additional services such as skills training, micro-lending, and education.

Purpose of Program:

The purpose of the Larger Visions safe-house program is threefold. First, it is to provide women victims of gender-based violence with a safe place. Second, it is to provide them with the skills and resources necessary to ensure that they can take care of themselves and their loved ones. The third and ultimate purpose of the Larger Visions safe house program is for the program to be self-sustaining — meaning it is ultimately run by women who have gone through the program.

Larger Visions is dedicated to creating safe-house programs for victims of gender-based violence.
